Upon noticing behavioral and developmental differences in their child Henrique, Marta and Rogério are anxious about receiving a diagnosis which would confirm their fears and suspicions. They start searching for a cure and pursue various treatments but, unfortunately experience little to no results. Their desperation to help their son leads them to toxic positivity and quackery. Marta becomes completely dedicated to caring for Henrique, while Rogério falls into depression due to his difficulty to accept the situation. The strain on their relationship becomes evident as they withdraw from all social life and struggle with dysfunctional family connections. In their unrelenting quest for a sense of normality for their son’s life, the couple finds itself increasingly alone, and their relationship crumbles.
